Fleeting Moments & Other Possibilities

A journey. On the passage through time and of one’s life.

By using as a symbol the simple, beautiful but complex
drop that begins life, nurtures life, sustains life and
combining it with either an object that represents the life
force – or not, as in our choices, the assembled drops
reach back into our past and towards the future
and become a metaphor for our lives.

Fleeting moments, to the time when we ourselves return
to the earth and become a memory

‘Moving’

A childhood spent in an RAF family meant a childhood of moving house, making
then losing friends and everything that was familiar. And beginning again.

These three pieces in ‘Moving’ represent that movement and are bound together
by the string that  shows the connectedness of all things - particularly a child to
it’s parents. And yet, although connected, the child stands alone.

The circumference of the 3D piece is exactly the same as the height of the panels
so becomes an object, like a trunk or a suitcase, to pick up and take with you.
Packed full of memories and experiences that are shown on the outside and not
hidden on the inside of a suitcase or packing crate - or of the self.

The strong colours represent the life energy  required for the journey.
