Moving’
A childhood spent in an RAF family meant a childhood of moving house, making then
losing friends and everything that was familiar. And beginning again.
These three pieces in ‘Moving’ represent that movement and are bound together by the
string that shows the connectedness of all things - particularly a child to it’s parents.
And yet, although connected, the child stands alone.
The circumference of the 3D piece is exactly the same as the height of the panels so
becomes an object, like a trunk or a suitcase, to pick up and take with you. Packed full
of memories and experiences that are shown on the outside and not hidden on the
inside of a suitcase or packing crate - or of the self.
The strong colours represent the life energy required for the journey.
‘Coming Home’ is the peace found on finding one’s home or ‘centre’.
